The Revenge has had Sogn og Fjordane County as prime supporter since 2002, and has altogether been granted around NOK 1.5 million, which is a national record for a single film project. Some of that funding has come from the cultural department, but most of it from the business department.
The county municipality of Sogn og Fjordane also has two advisers, Trond Ueland and Gitle Sande, who work closely with Randi on The Revenge. Ueland has followed the project since 2002. In that sense the project has an unusually sound foundation for a feature film. In many ways the project has, in cooperation with the county municipality, developed an instrument which gives the project a more sound framework as well as improved working conditions for Randi, who by now considers the entire situation a true endurance race!
In addition, her parents, Finn B. And Vigdis P. Førsund, been essential supporters both professionally, financially, and as mother and father. Other good partners in conversation during the preliminary work have been John Helge Lunde (an investor from Førde) and Reidar Sandal, a former Minister of Education and head of the Finance Committee in the Norwegian Parliament.
Gullik Hansen has been available by phone during the most demanding and lonely moments when the going has been particularly rough. Hansen is the project's contact person for the investors. Hansen is the individual in Norway who has raised the most private capital for a single film production, 25 million kroner, for The Kautokeino Rebellion (2008). That equals the total cost of a standard Norwegian film.
